Melissa Dex Guzman

Melissa Dex Guzman is a Vancouver live music concert photographer.  Inspired by the passion seen from the mosh pit as a teenager, she began shooting for light design production companies, shooting from a spectacle perspective.  Her goal is to capture the energy of the synergy between the artist and audience.  Clients include CBC Radio 3, SPIN Earth, Scene in the Dark, Beyond Robson, theFUTURISTS and Capilano Courier.

Melissa Dex Guzman is a Vancouver wedding photographer.  Branching out from the high pressure of shooting concerts, Melissa took this energy and understands how every second is everything.  As a romantic herself, she is attentive to every bit of detail and love between couples on the exciting big day.  Melissa has been photographing weddings since 2006.

Melissa Dex Guzman is a Vancouver engagement photographer.  As former Director of Photography of national Asian-Canadian arts Ricepaper Magazine, she was often sent to photograph artists all over the lower mainland.  Inspired by love, passion, and meeting so many beautiful families, Melissa began tackling engagement photos, pairing sessions up leading to weddings.

Melissa Dex Guzman is a Vancouver portrait photographer. She chooses to capture natural, candid expressions, hoping to emulate personality in a photo. Her portraits have been used for both personal and small businesses. The bulk of Melissa's portraiture work has been published in Ricepaper Magazine.

Melissa Dex Guzman is a Vancouver esports and video game culture photographer.  As a passionate StarCraft player, Melissa began to intake the rising scene of esports, particularly the glamorous following in Korea.  It was her goal to take photos of the GSL winner kissing the trophy.  To this date, she has accomplished this goal.  She follows Vancouver local events from StarCraft tournaments to "nerd themed" night life parties to video game themed burlesque.  She has traveled to Anaheim for BlizzCon and Seattle for PAX Prime where she took interest in Team Evil Geniuses and the League of Legends events.  Melissa is one of the leading photographers in Shogun Gamer's roster.

Melissa Dex Guzman is a Vancouver freelance photojournalist. Before Beyond Robson became defunct, Melissa profiled comic shops in the lower mainland including where she got her first job at the original Comic Shop on West 4th before it was demolished. She photographed much of the Vancouver Canucks Stanley Cup Run in 2011 from celebrations to ashes. Donning a unique perspective, she did not glamourize any of the offending rioters. She was fortunate to follow the VPD with former VPD turned documentary filmmakers as she watched the city clean up. Her photos were featured in Ricepaper Magazine, Beyond Robson.

Melissa Dex Guzman is a Vancouver artist as a photographer.  She maintains her own personal passion in the art and will never stop taking photos.  These photos are of her own journey in life with family and best friends.
